Wide Bay Australia leads the way with BPAY View™
Wide Bay Australia Managing Director Ron Hancock has announced that Wide Bay Australia will be the first non-bank financial institution in Australia to go live with BPAY View™.
“BPAY View™ lets Wide Bay account holders register and receive bills online from participating biller organisations, rather than receiving their bills by mail,” Mr Hancock said.
“Wide Bay Australia will now offer BPAY View™ as part of our ‘smartlink’ internet banking package which already allows customers to conduct free BPAY payments.”
Wide Bay Australia customers can register for ‘smartlink’ internet banking by calling into a branch or phoning 1300 138 831.
Ron said there were approximately 20 biller organisations offering this facility - including Telstra and Ergon Energy.
“These organisations will send your bill directly to your Wide Bay Australia internet banking account where you can view it and pay it at your leisure,” Mr Hancock said.
“While several major banks offer this service, Wide Bay Australia is the first non-bank financial institution to do so.
“The capability has been developed in house by our IT personnel in conjunction with consultants Sandstone Technology.”
Mr Hancock said it is expected that the number of biller organisations will grow significantly and include local councils and utilities.
He said BPAY View™ is easy to enable and simple for customers to use.
“We are constantly looking at how we can offer our customers added levels of service and choice.”
“Because it will reduce the paper used in traditional mailed bills, and help prevent mail fraud, activating the BPAY View™ facility is secure and environmentally friendly.”
