8/7/03 Wide Bay Expands Service through giroPost

Yesterday, Wide Bay Capricorn Building Society had 30 branches – today, customers can access their accounts at nearly 3000 outlets across Australia.

Mr Ron Hancock, Wide Bay Managing Director today advised that Wide Bay Capricorn has joined the giroPost network. This will allow customers to access their accounts at over 2900 Australia Post outlets across Australia.

“Our Accountholders can now use a Wide Bay Cashcard to transact on their linked account over-the-counter at any Australia Post outlet displaying the giroPost sign.”

“Depositors are able to enter their Cashcard PIN to withdraw, deposit or check their account balances on approved Wide Bay deposit or line-of–credit accounts – while our home loan customers will be able to deposit to their Wide Bay home loan account or check their loan account balance.”

“The facility will be of considerable benefit to Wide Bay’s growing number of customers across Australia who do not have access to a local branch.”

“In particular, our home loan customers in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide will be able to make their home loan payments using giroPost.”

“In addition, customers from our branch network in regional Queensland will have another avenue for accessing their accounts while travelling or on holidays.”

“giroPost not only adds to our extensive range of banking services but continues our focus on meeting individual customer needs and strengthening Wide Bay’s position in the national financial services marketplace.”

Mr Hancock said existing accountholders could apply for a Cashcard to access giroPost on selected accounts by contacting the Society.

14/4/03 New 24 Hour Teller Machine

Wide Bay Capricorn Building Society has installed a new 24 hour Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at its Yeppoon Branch.

The ATM accepts a wide range of cards belonging to a range of institutions including the major banks.

Mr Ron Hancock, Wide Bay Capricorn’s Managing Director, said the Society is committed to servicing the communities in which it operates and has responded to requests from its customers and residents for a 24 hour ATM.

Mr Hancock said Wide Bay Capricorn has plans to install more ATM's at other centres in coming months.

Mr Hancock encouraged residents of the Capricorn Coast to apply for a Society Cashcard as other card-holders would normally pay a fee to their bank or financial institution to use a Wide Bay Capricorn ATM.

We currently provide 6 free withdrawals at our own ATM’s and 6 free withdrawals over-the-counter at our branches each month so it’s a great incentive to become a Wide Bay Capricorn customer.

Mr Hancock said Wide Bay Capricorn’s branch facilities at Yeppoon had also been refurbished.

“This also demonstrates how important Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast is to Wide Bay especially the expansion and growth of our home lending.”

Our Home Loans Consultant Chris Ward is also looking forward to helping more local people with our Wide Bay Holidays offer.

The program will provide all customers who sign up for a standard variable home loan through any of the society’s Queensland branches with a free holiday.

Each new home loan customer receives Star Rewards, which can be redeemed for free holidays across a range of more than 200 destinations throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific.

Mr Hancock said the program provided home loan customers with a real and tangible benefit. “Everyone loves a holiday and to be given one free is a tremendous reward,” he said.

A Free Holiday – On the House!

In an exciting initiative released today, Wide Bay Capricorn Building Society Ltd has introduced a dynamic rewards program - Wide Bay Holidays.

As a first for the Bundaberg-based building society, the holiday rewards program provides all customers who obtain a standard variable home loan through any of the Society’s Queensland branches with a free holiday.

Each new home loan customer receives Star Rewards, which can be redeemed for free holidays across a range of more than 200 destinations throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific.

Managing Director, Ron Hancock is delighted with the launch of this innovative program. “Wide Bay Holidays provides our home loan customers with a real and tangible benefit. Everyone loves a holiday and to be given one free is a tremendous reward.”

The program is simple - for every $300 borrowed, customers achieve one Star Reward. For example, a home loan of $80,000 will provide 267 Star Rewards entitling the recipients’ to a one week holiday on the Gold Coast.

“While our home loans remain as competitive as ever, we believe that it is time to offer our customers even greater value. We can now provide them with an additional benefit that no other financial institution in our region can offer,” said Mr Hancock.

“The program is very much in line with our community banking philosophy and complements our focus on our individual customers needs from a financial institution,” added Mr Hancock.

Full details of the program are available at www.widebayholidays.com.au.
